This Privacy Policy (the “Policy”) describes how 3ala Gamb collects, uses, stores, shares, and protects data of Users in connection with the mobile application and related services (the “Service”).

This Policy applies to data collected through the 3ala Gamb mobile application for Android and iOS.

Please read this Policy carefully. By using the Service, you acknowledge that you have read and understood this Policy.

02Categories of Data Collected

We collect only data strictly necessary to provide the Service.

2.1 Data You Provide Directly (authenticated users only)

2.2 Data Stored Locally on Your Device Only

The following data is stored exclusively on your device and never transmitted to our servers:

• Recent searches for quick re-selection;
• Application preferences such as language selection;
• Cached map tiles to maximise performance.

This data is cleared when the app is uninstalled or local storage is cleared through device settings.

2.3 Data from Third-Party Sign-In Providers

If you sign in using Google Sign-In or Apple Sign-In, the provider will share your email address and full name with us. We do not receive any additional data.

2.4 No Sale of Personal Data

03GPS and Location Data

Because the Service is a public-transport routing application, location data is central to its functionality.

3.1 When Location is Accessed

3ala Gamb accesses your GPS location only when the application is open in the foreground. Your location is never tracked in the background or when the application is closed.

3.2 What We Do with Your Location

• Displaying the map: Your position is shown on the map and used to centre the view.
• Defaulting the route origin: Your position is pre-filled as the origin for a new route search.
• Computing routes: Origin and destination coordinates are sent to our backend to compute transit routes.
• Storing favourite locations: If you save a favourite location, its coordinates and name are stored in your Account.

3.3 How to Revoke Location Permission

• Android: Settings › Apps › 3ala Gamb › Permissions › Location;
• iOS: Settings › Privacy & Security › Location Services › 3ala Gamb.

If you revoke location permission, the Service will still function but you will need to enter the route origin manually.

04Data Retention

We retain personal data only for as long as necessary to fulfil the purposes for which it was collected.

4.1 Anonymisation on Account Deletion

When you delete your Account, we immediately and permanently delete all personal identifiers — name, email, hashed password, profile photo, and favourite locations.

05Children's Privacy

The Service is not intended for, and is not directed at, children under thirteen (13) years of age.

06Security of Your Personal Data

We implement appropriate technical and organisational measures to protect your personal data:

• Encryption in transit: All communications use HTTPS/TLS.
• Encryption at rest: Databases and file storage are encrypted at rest.
• Access controls: Production access is restricted on a need-to-know basis with strong authentication.
• Password hashing: Passwords are stored using industry-standard hashing and never in plain text.

No method of internet transmission is 100% secure. In the event of a breach likely to affect your rights, we will notify you and the competent supervisory authority within the timeframes required by applicable law.

07Account Deletion

You may delete your Account at any time by either:

• Using the in-app deletion function: Profile › Delete Account;
• Sending a written request to [email protected].

Account deletion is immediate and permanent. All personal identifiers are removed from our active systems. You may continue using the Service as a Guest User.

08Changes to This Policy

We may update this Policy to reflect changes in law, technology, or our business practices. When we do:

• The “Last Updated” date at the top of this Policy will be updated;
• The updated Policy will be published at 3alagamb.com;
• For material changes, we will notify you by email and seek renewed consent where required by law.

Continued use of the Service after the effective date constitutes acknowledgement of the updated Policy.
